Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama proposes central government to erase import duty for Transjakarta bus. It is because the buses are not purchased in fully assembly condition.
Government should not pay 10 percent of import duty
“No fully assembly import for the bus. The buses assembly are in Ungaran, Semarang. Government should not pay 10 percent of import duty,” he said, Friday (3/11).
Basuki asked PT Transjakarta to prepare proposal letter draft to Finance Ministry. The buses are produced by local automotive manufacturing outside Jakarta.
Transjakarta Service Is Getting BetterThe proposal is important since the buses would be used as subsidized transport. “Subsidized transportation should get incentives,” he closed.
